Teen girls are too pretty to understand irony

August 31, 2011 Rob 0

Silly J.C. Penney. You should know by now that teen girls are too fragile and stupid to decide for themselves what t-shirts to wear. Thank goodness for people willing to speak out against such atrocities on their behalf. After all, how will teen girls ever grow up to be strong, independent women if we don’t pick their clothes for them?

Mercury Falls is now only $3.99! In preparation for the release of Mercury Rises, Amazon has dropped the price of Mercury Falls on Kindle to $3.99! Who needs logic when you believe in yourself?

August 19, 2011 Rob 0

This is from a friend who is in a college-level logic class. Assignment: Consider an argument you have recently had with a friend, family member, manager, co-worker, or someone else. Identify the topic of the argument and present that argument in premise-conclusion form, identifying both the premises and conclusion. Your initial post should be at least 150 words in length. August 14, 2011 Rob 0

Let the evangelical-bashing begin! Let me be clear: Michele Bachmann scares the crap out of me. But I object to smear tactics like this LA Times blog post that keeps popping up on Facebook. And (2) How is this different from the GOP’s smear campaign against Obama’s Pastor?

A Creature Most Foul

A Creature Most Foul I’m somewhat in awe of Kevin McGill’s marketing talents. I’ve been following his progress on A Creature Most Foul for a good year now, and the man knows how to build anticipation. He started early, worked hard, and produced a great-looking product. Aspiring self-published authors could learn a lot from his example. The book is currently #3 under children’s action/adventure books on the Kindle (free).

Wordstock!

Wordstock! I’ll be at this thing. Oct. 6-9, Portland. Be there!

Let us know how this works out. I never quite got the idea of tumblr (might have been the missing ‘e’) but I do find blogging tiresome so maybe tumblr is for me too.

August 13, 2011 Rob 0

Tumblr seems to be like a cross between Twitter and Blogger. More flexible than Twitter but not as involved as a real blog. I like the idea of having all of the stuff (pictures, videos, links, etc.) in one place where anybody can get to it, rather than having them stuck on FB or scattered across various other sites.
