I’ve been fairly shitty about keeping this blog updated, but I’ve got a pretty good excuse: for starters, I just finished another novel, called The Big Sheep. I think this marks the first time I’ve written an entire book around a pun, Schrodinger’s Gat notwithstanding. (The title for Schrodinger’s Gat actually came to me after I’d started writing a “quantum physics noir thriller.”) The title of this book is, of course, a reference to the classic noir film and Raymond Chandler novel, The Big Sleep. The Big Sheep is a humorous near-future sci-fi mystery that I’d describe as Blade Runner meets Sherlock. It’s currently in the hands of my agent; I hope to have good news about it soon.
Secondly, I’ve been working on a new collaborative publishing venture called Westmarch Publishing. Westmarch has a bunch of great authors involved, and we’re going to be releasing a lot of books over the next few months. Check out our website here.
Next up on my to-do list is finishing City of Sand, my mind-bending sci-fi thriller. Thanks to my awesome supporters on Kickstarter, I’ve raised enough money to independently publish City of Sand. The book is about half-finished right now; I hope to finish it by the end of November and publish it by the end of January. Kickstarter supporters will get their copies at least two weeks before the book goes live on Amazon.
Exciting stuff is happening. Stay tuned!
